Julien and Nicolas Mariétan took over this family-run mountain pasture at the foot of the Dents du Midi in 2024. From June to October, they produce cheeses with passion, respecting the know-how handed down by their father Serge.
This historic alpine dairy is perched at an altitude of 1500 metres and offers a magnificent view of the Dents du Midi massif and Lake Geneva. Serge Mariétan sells his products straight from the farm from June to October and the rest of the year from his farm in Val d’Illiez.
Since 2019, Julien – Serge’s son – has been making cheese on the mountain pasture. His brother Nicolas has his own mountain pasture in Morgins, with suckler cows. He also makes the fodder for the winter and works at the farm in Val d’Illiez.
The family business has about 30 dairy cows and their young that graze on the alp during the summer. In 2016, 2017, and 2018, the Mariétan family received a gold star PDO for their Raclette cheese. They were awarded the 20/20 score in 2019.
