‘La Jaune’ Blue Trail (instruction track) / Rando Parc Morgins

Morgins

Closed

The iconic 'La Jaune' trail features a series of instruction signs to help teach you the basics of this challenging but highly rewarding sport!

Because it used to be a groomed ski run, ‘La Jaune’ is easy to access and is illuminated at night, making it the perfect trail for beginners or people ski touring on their own.

Leave from the Place du 6 Août car park in Morgins, turning right and following a flat path along the Vièze river before zigzagging up a steeper section. The trail then becomes narrow as it takes you deep into the forest before arriving at the last section at the top of the Crêtes Ridge. From here, you can admire the views of our majestic Dents du Midi before skiing back down the Foilleuse slope.

Educational signs along the trail explain different ski mountaineering techniques (kick-turns, putting on and taking off skins, avalanche rescue techniques, taking care of your equipment) with helpful images and links to explanatory videos.

SIGNS
The trail is marked with yellow diamond-shaped signs (with a blue dot) to the top of the Foilleuse.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
Please take note and follow these important safety instructions. At the start of each trail, a sign indicates whether it is open or not. If the trail is closed, this can indicate lack of snow or dangerous conditions. Taking a closed trail is at your own risk. Open or closed, the trails are marked but not patrolled. We strongly advise that you carry, and know how to use, avalanche safety equipment (avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel, and emergency blanket). Région Dents du Midi and Movement Skis decline all responsibility in case of an accident.
