The Four Seasons: Vivaldi autrement

The Colors of Invention
Les Colors of Invention, founded by Gilles Apap in 2000, is an atypical ensemble that plays all over the world. Their repertoire is made up of numerous arrangements of classical works including Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Ravel’s Tzigane, Kreisler’s Prelude and Allegro, traditional folk and gypsy music.

Gilles Apap
“The violinist of the 21st century” Yehudi Menuhin said of him. Bruno Monsaingeon – famous for his films on Gould and Richter – has directed two documentaries on Gilles Apap. Known for his virtuosity and unique approach to music, nourished by years of travel and research into different cultures around the world (jazz, folk, traditional), Gilles Apap has the gift of transmitting freedom and communicative joy.

Myriam Lafargue
Her virtuosity and talent have rewarded her with international awards that have taken her to Europe, the United States and Japan, where she has given thirty concerts with orchestra. At the request of Michel Legrand, who composed a song for her, she performed at the Petit Journal Montparnasse. She has accompanied José Van Dam at the Opéra Comique and recorded music for films and cartoons by Desplat and Liboutry.

Philippe Noharet
At thirteen he entered the CNSM de Lyon, and at seventeen the Orchestre National de l’Opéra de Lyon, where he played under J-E. Gardiner and Kent Nagano, and at twenty-five he joined the Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Paris. He has performed with Ute Lemper, Mano Solo and R. Galliano, and has worked on jazz and film music with M. Legrand, Desplat, Cosma and Bolling. He is a member of the World Orchestra For Peace conducted by Valery Gergiev.

<Ludovit Kovac
Born in Slovakia, he studied at the Bela Bartok Conservatory in Budapest, which opened the doors to the Hanover Radio Orchestra and the Berliner Sinfonie Orchester as a soloist. Yehudi Menuhin invites him to the Cirque Royal de Bruxelles. In addition to the folk repertoire, he plays Scarlatti, Mozart, Chopin, Liszt, Paganini, contemporary music and jazz, and records film music with Michel Legrand.
