Visit the charming alpine village of Val-d'Illiez
Departure from the church square: Follow the narrow La Creuse road that winds downhill under the railway bridge and through a residential area of quaint Val-d’Illiez chalets until you reach the thermal bathing complex (bath are closed, the restaurant & appartments are open). From here, climb the opposite hillside through the pastures, then follow the path downhill to cross over the Vièze River.
To return to the village, you have two options. Take the path that branches to the right and go up the steep Sentier des Champs path, but be careful, the route may be icy. Otherwise, continue straight on past the chalets on the Route du Stand. From the area called Play, take the Chemin de Fellina back to the village.
