Culture On Tour, a new programmer of shows in mountain regions, brings you La Boîte à Goûter by the Heros Fourbus company in Champéry.

Nuria, 9, lives with her grandfather in a small suburban house with a piece of garden. When her snack box is stolen by a gang of resourceful ants, she decides to go looking for it. Her snack box is more important to her than anything else, having been given to her by her mom. This “journey” and her encounter with Odette, the spider, will lead her to look at the world around her in a different way, and particularly at all those little creatures that frighten, disgust and disturb.

This show was born out of a desire to question our relationship with the world of insects and nature. Over the centuries, by radically changing our way of life, human beings have gradually dissociated themselves from their environment. We feel separated from nature, regarding it as a pleasant or dangerous environment; our relationship with living things is often built on fear and ignorance. Cut off from our perception, our ability to apprehend it diminishes. In these special times, when climate threats are generating anxiety, particularly among the younger generations, this show is a modest attempt to take a tender, humorous look at all our contradictions in the face of what is different from us.
