Information for beginners
Downhill biking requires a good knowledge of mountain biking and the right technique and equipment. Don’t set off downhill without being properly equipped and prepared. The level and colours of the bike park’s trails are designed for experienced riders. If you’re just starting out, get in touch with the local guides to find out more about the bikepark and learn how to ride with them.

The Portes du Soleil is a mountain biker’s paradise, with over 600 km of marked trails and 24 ski lifts equipped for bike transport. One hands-free bike pass allows experts, amateurs and families to access any number of the hundreds of trails that criss-cross the Portes du Soleil and its 12 resort villages!
Experienced mountain bikers can choose from 75 specially designed downhill trails, 5 bikeparks and various trial and cross circuits. Amateurs and families may prefer to take the less challenging paths and alpine tracks that traverse the forests and pastures, stopping to admire pastoral views of historic alpine chalets, mountain lakes and breathtaking vistas along the way.
