Hailing from New Zealand, Blake Marshall is a professional freeride skier with a long time connection to Region Dents du Midi. He made his ski debut in the Portes du Soleil at the tender age of 3, when he began spending winters between the Swiss Alps and the New Zealand mountains, even joining the Morgins ski club.
His father, still based in Morgins, is a member of the Swiss Ski School. Cutting his teeth in alpine skiing under the watchful eye of Didier Défago, Blake eventually moved on to freestyle skiing and then freeriding. A participant in the Freeride World Tour over the past three years, Blake won his first podium in 2021 with a 3rd place in Andorra. Today, he is in 9th place overall in the freeride world ranking.
Inspired by the freedom and diversity of terrain that characterizes Region Dents du Midi, Blake spends his winters in his second home, skiing on (and off) piste. An old hand at the balancing act of belonging to two countries, Blake loves the liberty of Les Portes du Soleil, crisscrossing the border between Switzerland and France on a whim wherever his skis take him.
