Trail Running in Switzerland: Take a Hike!
The superlative topography of the Val d’Illiez and the Portes du Soleil is an irresistible sirens’ call for sports and nature lovers. Countless routes and trails crisscross the area over passes and through the valleys between Switzerland and France.
In summer, elite athletes and amateurs alike participate in local races like the Trail des Dents du Midi, the Trail de Bellevue or the Swisspeaks Trail.
- The easy courses are marked in green and blue. They cover between 5 and 12 kilometres and between 66 and 700 metres of positive altitude difference. Ideal for a first approach, recovery after a competition or an injury.
- The routes are marked by red and black and have a mileage of between 12 and 25 kilometres and a positive difference in altitude ranging from 900 to 2,000 metres.
- The difficult courses are shown in orange and yellow. From the vertical kilometer of the Christian Bellet Memorial to the 80 kilometers and nearly 6,000 meters of positive altitude difference of the Swiss Peaks Trail route.
Trail Running Portes du Soleil

This a new kind of Trail, with 48 routes for runners of all levels. The network of 28 chairlifts helps take the sting out of the uphill climbs for some and opens up undreamed of distances for others.
Multi Pass Portes du Soleil
